Artifical Intelligence Software for Unmanned Submarines and Unmanned Aircraft

Surabaya – Lecturer in Information Systems, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (UNUSA), Dr Teguh Herlambang, S.Si., M.Si assessed about the requirement for Artificial Intelligence (AI) software, in this case is navigation, guidance and control system needed by submarines and aircraft without any crew be in charged.

Dr Teguh explained that every country had prepared their military industries (based on their region in the air, sea and land) with adequate weapons. In this case, Dr Teguh explained more about indispensable underwater defense systems such as unmanned submarine, as it means, Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) and an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

“I think that artifical intelligence software will fulfill the requirements for Unitary State of Republic Indonesia (NKRI) defense and security, in this case, an excellent navigation, guidance and control system,” Dr Teguh explained on Friday (4/9).

Dr Teguh explained that navigation system should coordinate with planning, sensing, and controlling the passage from the initial position without a collision and able to avoid existing obstacles. Meanwhile, the guidance system is based on the AUV position by producing a path that must be passed by AUV system. “Meanwhile, the control system regulates with the AUV motion to make it remain stable both in diving conditions and following the desired trajectory,” he uttered.

AI software can also be implemented in drones with a navigation guidance control system. “In order to reduce the risk of casualties, this application can be controlled from the ground,” Dr Teguh explained more clearly.

Dr Teguh explained that the AUV and UAV could be integrated with each other to support each other in national defense and security.

“With the development of artificial intelligence, the independence of national defense and security system can be created properly,” he explained and wish for better as he closed the conversation. (sar UNUSA public relations and marketing)
