Nepal – Dr. Ubaidillah Zuhdi, one of the lecturers of Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (Unusa), recently won a valuable opportunity to become a Guest Lecturer at three renowned universities in Nepal. During his visit, Ubaidillah shared valuable experiences about his life abroad with the students there.
“We, Unusa lecturers, continue to strive and play an active role in developing international networks and sharing knowledge and experiences with academic communities in various parts of the world,” he said.
In his presentation, he highlighted various aspects of his experience teaching international students, including from countries such as Japan and Poland. Ubaidillah shared not only academic knowledge, but also a broad view of different cultures and ways of life.
He illustrated how students from different cultural backgrounds interact in an educational setting, and how this enriches the teaching and learning process. His experience is an inspiration for students in Nepal to be more open to international experiences and develop their global horizons.
Ubaidillah’s visit to Nepal is also part of the implementation of one of Unusa’s 2024 internal research grant schemes, the International Matching Fund. Through this scheme, it is hoped that more Unusa lecturers and researchers can establish academic relationships with foreign institutions, bringing significant benefits to the development of science and improving the quality of education in Indonesia.
“The Matching Fund International program itself aims to increase international collaboration and strengthen Unusa’s global academic network,” he said. Dr. Ubaidillah Zuhdi’s visit to Nepal is one clear example of how Unusa lecturers play an active role in developing international networks and sharing knowledge and experiences with academic communities in various parts of the world.
